“Oprah’s” guests included Tony Danza, Serena Williams, and Angie Harmon. Tony Danza originally went to school to study to be a school teacher. He then went into boxing. Through his boxing career he was casted on to the television series, “Taxi”. Tony always wanted to re-ignite his career and reach out to helping children. Through an original A&E series, he was hired on to be a high school English teacher at a large magnet school. The series shows his rocky start, his ups and downs. He also got in trouble on the first day of work for not signing in. One student was skeptical of Mr. Danza’s abilities and did not trust he would receive a quality education from his class. In the end, Tony pulled it together and made the A grade.

Serena Williams has a dream of becoming a nail technician. She is taking courses to take her career all the way. She has had a passion for doing nails since she was a child. She often coordinates her look with Venus, especially for appearances and matches. She met Oprah in the Harpo Spa and gave her a foot massage with a pedicure. Serena is serious about her pursuit and plans on taking 900 hours in training.
Oprah used the time to ask Serena some interesting questions.
Oprah asked Serena about love. Serena responded that love hurts. They discussed how when she is in a love relationship, it’s almost as if she has to hold a piece of herself back.
Men want women to make them feel needed.
Oprah advised that you must always let your light shine bright; don’t dim your light to be in a love relationship.

Angie Harmon, now starring in the series “Rizzoli and Isles” has a real life desire to work as a forensics examiner. She visited a forensics lab and observed how crimes are solved using human remains. The examiner showed her the fractured bones of an infant. Harmon felt relieved to know that the person who murdered the infant was in jail. The lab liked Harmon so much; they wished they could hire her. For now she will continue with her acting career. By observing her, she does have the passion to be a true to life investigator.
The stars on “Oprah” had other career aspirations than being a celebrity. Perhaps they have discovered that being in the limelight is not the end all. At some point in your life you want to head towards your true calling. Most of us in life do not get the opportunity to rise up and become what we desire to be in life.
